Although people shop where they can get value for their money but most people shop for brands that they trust and have good experiences with.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are two places  in Cebu where you can find me but when I feel like de-stressing I go to this dance club. I'm a regular customer of this dance bar for over three years now and it's not just because the place is cool and the crowd is great. But I like the way their staff treat me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can get table reservations, and if I drop by unannounced, they always find a way to get me and my friends tables and chairs.  I don't really mind that I have to pay 100 bucks to get inside the club or that their food and beverages are even a bit expensive  compared to other dance clubs. But whenever I am there, they make me feel like I am the most important customer in the world! And who wouldn't want that?!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My point is that &lt;a href="http://www.philippinescustomerserviceblog.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;customer service&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; plays an important role in expanding customer base and retaining customer loyalty. If customers are provided with more than what is required,  or if the customer's expectations are exceeded, then your business gets the loyalty and preference of more customers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am reminded of this bakeshop that we have in town. They bake great pastries but their &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;customer service&lt;/span&gt; is just terrible. I remember having to wait for several minutes (which seemed like &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;forever!&lt;/span&gt;) before someone from the bakeshop can take my order.  The attendants were busy gossiping about celebrities and politicians.  After two or three instances of bad &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;service&lt;/span&gt;, I never bought anything from that bakeshop again. I even discouraged my friends from buying there. I prefer going to another bakeshop, walking an additional block or two. I don't mind. I just hate it when  people make me feel that that my time is not important. I hate people who waste my time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the next time, a customer comes in to transact a business with you, remember that &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;customer service&lt;/span&gt; is still important. If I were to vote for the two most important customer service skills it would be: listening to the customer, and knowing what you are selling/providing. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It gets to your nerves when you're complaining to a customer service representative (CSR) about the bad service or defective product you got from them and the CSR is not even listening. Not listening could mean he was doing something, he was interrupting you while you were talking, or the CSR kept on asking questions that are not even related to the reason why called!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don't you just hate it when the CSR keeps on bugging you about details that you've already provided during the call. It bugs customer when customer service representatives don't understand the reason for your call.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another pet peeve is when you call the customer service department to ask more about their service or product. When you call for a service or product information, of course, you expect someone to provide relevant information. But when the service representative on the other end of the line makes you feel like you're speaking to him in Martian language, that's frustrating.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Once a customer calls, the customer expects to be heard and to be given the right information regarding the product or service. If as a customer service representative, you lack listening skills or enough product knowledge, expect your customers to be disinterested, frustrated, and mad. According to the news article, financial and utilities services providers lose as much as  £2 billions each year due to poor customer services.  Now, that got me interested.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a direct consequence of poor customer service, according to the news article, banks and utilities providers are losing 1/4 of their customer base. The high costs are due to the fact that financial and utilities service providers have the biggest consumer bases, however, their ppor customer service leads to the declining customer loyalty.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the common distress of customers include long waiting times, non-user-friendly self service, and having to repeat information.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Companies need to know how altering expectations are influencing high customer churn. According to the news article, industries just can't continue doing what they used to do because customers nowadays have higher customer service expectations. If companies do not improve customer service, dissatisfaction among customers and consumers will increase.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, there are numerous call center companies all over the world right now, but the question is: are they the right customer service providers that your company can partner with?
